Due to the expansion of our cardiac services, we are pleased to offer the opportunity for a Highly Specialised Cardiac Echocardiographer to complement our Cardiac Physiology team here at University Hospitals Dorset. We are a forward‑thinking team that consistently strives to improve and develop our services and encourage all team members to actively engage in this process. Continued professional development is supported through weekly departmental meetings and MDT imaging reviews as well as regular attendance at national conferences.

We support a four‑day working week at UHD to provide an improved work‑life balance for our staff. Standard hours are 08:00‑18:00 however this can be discussed.

The successful candidate will hold BSE accreditation, be enthusiastic and passionate about improving patient‑centred care and be motivated about providing in‑house training for junior physiologists. Clinical skills in either cardiac rhythm management or PCI are desirable but not essential. The post is for a full time position however part time applicants will be considered. This post will include Saturday working on a rotational basis.

This role requires a BSc in Cardiac Physiology or BTEC HNC or equivalent. Applicants for this position need to hold full TTE BSE accreditation to be considered for this post.

We are extremely proud of our Echocardiography departments across our two sites. As well as standard transthoracic studies we also perform 3D echocardiograms, bubble and contrast studies and stress echo procedures as well as supporting the transoesophageal echo service.

Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute.
