Pharmacy Technician
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced hospital pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at University Hospitals Dorset as our Deputy Lead for Medicine, specialising in Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Renal.
This role is being offered as a job share. Full‑time and part‑time working hours will be considered.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a clinical pharmacy service to patients across the specialty. Working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the maximum efficacy, safety and value for money of drug therapy, while demonstrating professional accountability in enhancing patient care.
As a leader in your field you will have the support to further develop your skills as a clinician and leader, and play a key role in shaping the future of the Pharmacy clinical services.
Weekend shifts 1 in 5 (either Saturday or Sunday) and approximately one Bank Holiday shift per year. The job role includes working on a weekend daytime and weekday late night service as part of a rota.
Qualifications & Experience- Band 7‑8a progression post with a defined development pathway.
- At least two years of pharmacy practice experience and completion of at least one year of a clinical diploma (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in a speciality or a grounding in hospital pharmacy with support to build expertise and confidence to take on a band 8a post.
- GPhC Registration.

Location:
Cross site working at Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital.
Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
