CAMHS IAPT Neurodevelopmental Practitioner

Closing date: 25 February 2026

We have an exciting opportunity in our Gateway and community CAMHs teams for enthusiastic IAPT Neurodevelopmental Practitioners to join their supportive team.

The service is entering an exciting period of growth, with new investments and initiatives underway. This role will evolve alongside the development of our service; initially, you may support existing teams while new structures are implemented. All positions are pan‑Dorset and will involve having a temporary base during the transitional phase. As our service develops, some roles may involve working flexibly within extended hours to reflect our commitment to being there at the moments that count most.

This is more than just a role - it's a chance to help shape a growing service and be part of something that really matters. We are looking for compassionate, adaptable and positive individuals who are inspired by the idea of making a genuine difference and who want to help shape the future of care in our community.

As an IAPT Neurodevelopmental Practitioner, you will have completed the PG Diploma in Learning Disability and Autism that is part of the IAPT training programmes in Psychological Therapies. You will work closely with the multi‑disciplinary team and partner agencies providing a high quality of care ensuring high standards of clinical practice are met.

This post is a full time role covering Monday to Friday 9:00-17:00, flexible working may be considered and driving is essential for this role.

Main duties of the job

You will hold a clinical caseload including the CCO role, offer evidence‑based interventions in line with our care pathways and take part in our duty rota.

You will make judgements about appropriate models of treatment, often involving highly complex issues and situations and thus requiring analysis, comparison and interpretation of a range of options.

You will undertake mental health assessments in a variety of settings including home, clinic, schools and acute settings and ensure appropriate treatment plans are initiated.

You will have a special interest in working with neurodiversity and offer treatments that can support children and young people with a diagnosis of ADHD and autism spectrum condition.
