Home Care Assistant (Domiciliary Carer) in Bournemouth

A1 Care is a fast growing organisation in the Bournemouth area promoting independence in the comfort of people’s own homes through both Domiciliary & Live-in Care Services.

We are currently seeking a flexible team of 3 Support Workers to join our company (2 full time / 1 relief), supporting a lovely couple to do simple things that we take for granted, such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, visiting friends and socialize. They need to be driven around, car is provided.

Our lovely couple lives in Bournemouth, Dorset trying to enjoy a full life despite having Cerebral Palsy. They are hoisted for all transfers and are either carried or use a wheelchair for all mobility, therefore we need someone who can prove experience with manual handling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing high quality of care and support
  • Safe delivery of the service in line with the company policies and procedures
  • Undertake training and development
  • Understand and monitor health and safety, and infection control in the field
  • Maintain full and accurate records and reporting system
  • Maintain confidentiality
Skills and Experience
  • Enthusiastic, physically active with good communication skills and have a positive outlook (Essential)
  • Working with the elderly (Desirable)
  • Working as part of a team (Desirable)
  • Ability to promote independence and work in a person centred way. (Essential)
  • Adaptable to change
  • Full EU / UK driving licence and access to a car
Benefits and Working Conditions
  • There are 24 hours shifts available (day care and sleeping night) on a 1 day on / 1 day off basis covered by 2 carers. Another carer is needed to cover breaks / holidays.
