We are looking for a hands-on IT Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operation, development, and reliability of my clients blue chip IT environment. This role is ideal for an experienced technical professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, professional setting and enjoys working directly with modern Microsoft technologies.
About the Role
As IT Manager, you will take responsibility for the organisation’s core IT services, ensuring secure, stable, and high‑performing systems. You’ll provide expert technical guidance, lead small‑scale projects, manage third‑party suppliers, and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure, cloud services, and user support.
This role combines technical leadership with practical, hands‑on systems administration.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
* Lead the administration and optimisation of Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra , Intune, Defender security tools, and related platforms.
* Manage IT operations, including incident resolution, escalations, and service delivery.
* Ensure strong cyber security practices, including patching, identity management, and compliance with security standards.
* Lead small to medium technical projects from planning to delivery.
* Maintain IT policies, documentation, asset registers, and configuration standards.
* Work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain a reliable, secure, and scalable environment.
* Contribute to IT strategy and continual improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Strong hands‑on experience in a technical IT role within a professional environment.
* Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra , Intune, Defender, and Windows Server technologies.
* Solid understanding of networking, security fundamentals, and modern device management.
* Experience managing projects and coordinating external suppliers.
* Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical outcomes.
Desirable
* Experience implementing cyber security frameworks (e.g., Cyber Essentials).
* Familiarity with ITIL practices.
* Exposure to compliance or governance requirements.
* Relevant Microsoft or security certifications
