My client, a well-established and highly respected professional services organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their growing Data team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled data professional to play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise‑scale data platforms that support advanced analytics, reporting, and data governance across the business.
The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, cloud‑based data solutions while helping shape the organisation’s wider data strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain centralised cloud‑based data platforms that support operational and strategic business requirements.
- Utilise modern cloud technologies and programming languages to build scalable and efficient data solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate data requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Work alongside project managers to coordinate and prioritise data requests in line with business needs and delivery timelines.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of technical data standards, ensuring all data products remain compliant with governance frameworks.
- Act as the Data Workstream Lead across change portfolios, providing technical leadership and architectural guidance to ensure alignment with the wider data strategy.
- Manage, review, and mentor assigned engineers and offshore partners, promoting collaboration and best practices.
- Ensure all data processes, pipelines, and reporting solutions are accurately documented and adhere to governance and data quality standards.
- Strong experience in Data Engineering and enterprise‑scale data platform development.
- Excellent working knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and programming languages, including SQL, Python, and PySpark.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based BI and data technologies, such as Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Proven experience leading development work streams within data‑centric or technical projects.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, quality assurance, and best‑practice data management standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced, agile environments while managing competing priorities effectively.
- Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder management capabilities across both technical and business teams.
- Previous experience in professional services (Finance, Insurance, Legal) would be beneficial.
