My client, a well-established and highly respected professional services organisation, is looking to appoint a proactive and technically strong Senior BI Engineer to join their growing Data team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering cloud-based BI solutions, transforming complex data into actionable insights that support both strategic and operational decision-making across the business.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, leading BI work streams within change portfolios and helping shape scalable, high-quality data solutions aligned to the wider data strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead BI work streams across change initiatives, providing technical expertise and design guidance to ensure solutions align with architectural and data standards.
- Develop and maintain centralised cloud-based data platforms using modern BI technologies and programming languages.
- Ensure BI processes, reporting solutions, and data products are fully documented and compliant with governance and quality standards.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective BI and data solutions.
- Coordinate and prioritise incoming data requests to meet business needs in a controlled and efficient manner.
- Mentor and support developers within the team, promoting best practices and technical excellence.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of technical standards, governance frameworks, and data quality processes.
- Collaborate with end users during testing phases, providing recommendations and resolving data quality issues where required.
- Background in BI Engineering / Development.
- Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, DAX, and Power Query.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modelling methodologies (Star Schema / Snowflake), and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience translating business processes into scalable data models and optimising performance across large datasets.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, security, and best‑practice data management principles.
- Proven experience leading development work streams within data‑centric or technical projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working within agile, fast‑paced environments and managing competing priorities effectively.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in the professional services space (Finance, Insurance, Legal) would be beneficial.
