Job Title:

Roadside Technician - Patrol Division (Poole, Dorset)

As a Roadside Technician in our Patrol division, you deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. From a flat battery to a complex fault-finding, you provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.

• Respond to call-outs and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on the roadside
• Repair or replace parts such as batteries, tyres, brakes, and other vehicle components
• Use diagnostics equipment and tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Provide outstanding member service, remaining calm under pressure and communicating clearly
• Travel across the UK, starting and ending your day from home while maintaining your own RAC van and equipment

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification or equivalent
• Proven technical, electrical and diagnostic experience
• Full UK driving licence
• Customer-focused approach and strong problem-solving skills

• Base salary: £42,921 (inclusive of night allowance)
• On-Target Earnings (OTE): average £43k-53k, with top performers earning up to £60k
