University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) is calling for dedicated nurses to join our dynamic and supportive Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) temporary staffing team. Within NICU at UHD you will provide critical care and specialist nursing to preterm and newborn babies requiring intensive and special care. UHD Neonatal Unit is a level‑2 centre caring for preterm babies of 27 weeks gestation and above as well as sick term babies. We use a range of therapies such as ventilation, cerebral cooling and cerebral function monitoring.

- Delivering Specialised Neonatal Care:
Provide high‑quality nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns in a level 2 centre, including ventilated and intensive care patients, in line with clinical guidelines and protocols. - Monitoring Vital Signs
- Safely Administering Medications and Treatments
- Parental Support and Education
- Collaborating with Multidisciplinary Teams
- Maintaining Accurate Documentation
- Participating in Clinical Decision‑Making
This role demands clinical precision, compassion and excellent communication skills to ensure optimal care and outcomes for newborns in critical need.

Person Specification – Qualifications- Registration on Part 1 (RGN/RN Adult General), 8 (RSCN/Child Branch), 12 (RM), 15 (Project 2000 Children’s Nurse) of NMC Register or equivalent.
