An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UHD Breast Cancer Specialist Nursing Teams. Two new posts are available for full time and part time roles to cover patients with primary breast cancer. The successful applicants will work alongside the current Breast Cancer CNS/ACP Teams across Poole and Bournemouth.

• Support patients and families throughout the adjuvant breast cancer pathway.
• Ensure timeliness of investigations and appointments with awareness of Cancer Waiting Time Targets.
• Attend Breaking Bad News sessions, provide support and information regarding diagnosis and treatment.
• Advocate for patients and advise on symptom management.
• Coordinate the introduction of Ribociclib for adjuvant treatment of HR positive, HER2 negative early breast cancer, in accordance with NICE recommendations.
• Work closely with the Breast Multidisciplinary Team, Primary and Tertiary Care personnel and operate autonomously when necessary.

• NMC Registered Nurse (RGN).
• Completion of UKONS SACT passport and evidence of SACT competency.

• Demonstrable breast/Oncology/symptom control knowledge.
• Familiarity with national and local developments in oncology.
• Experience working within oncology.
• Experience with SACT or radiotherapy treatments.
• Advanced communication skills.
• Psychological skills training.
• Experience working as a specialist nurse.

• IT literacy using a range of current and relevant packages.
• Teaching and presentation skills.

• Highly motivated.
• Flexible to the needs of the service.
• Proven evidence of good organisational skills.

Staff recruited are expected to be available to work flexibly across all our Trust locations to meet service demands.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
