Quality Engineer

Overview

Butler Ross is recruiting for multiple Quality Engineering positions on behalf of a client operating in the marine services sector. These are exciting opportunities to join an expanding organisation, suitable for someone new to the field or an individual with previous quality inspection or quality engineer experience.

Salary circa £35,000 (negotiable based on experience). Hybrid working (2 days a week from home). Occasional travel outside the UK (about once per month).

• Attitude:
  Desire, determination, and interest in problem-solving (skills can be taught).
• Some prior experience/background in quality, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Familiarity with quality systems, methodologies, controls, or processes – e.g., PPAP, APQP, 5Y, 8S, 8D, ISO, Ishikawa.

• Supplier Management & Development – Build strong supplier relationships, conduct regular audits, assessments and performance reviews.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance – Ensure supplier compliance with company standards and regulations, review control plans and quality documentation.
• Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement – Monitor supplier quality metrics and solve supplier quality and non-conformance issues.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with engineering, purchasing, production, and logistics teams.
• Documentation & Reporting – Maintain records and reports on audits, non-conformance, corrective actions, and supplier quality performance.
