Job title:
Customer Assistant s is a 35‑hour contract, all shifts, with a pay rate of £13.45‑£14.45 per hour, plus additional pay: £2.00 per hour for bank holidays and £3.50 per hour for night shifts. The role offers 30–35 days of holiday pro‑rated, a 10% in‑store discount, a pension scheme, enhanced family leave, long‑service awards and other perks.
- Restock shelves and ensure product availability.
- Operate tills and manage sales transactions.
- Maintain the store’s cleanliness, tidiness and organisation.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions, queries and requests.
- Handle deliveries as they arrive in store.
- Bake fresh goods for the bakery section.
- Merchandise and maintain non‑food aisles.
- Adapt to changing priorities and support team members.
Candidates should possess a positive approach, flexibility to start early or finish late, a drive to work hard and a friendly manner that inspires customers and teammates. Experience in a fast‑paced retail environment is preferred, though training will be provided.
