Overview
We are seeking a legal advisor to support development of a social franchise offering that will be able to support hundreds of people and communities, initially across Dorset.
What difference will you make?Providing pro bono legal advice to this project will ensure that The Friendly Food Club will be able to significantly increase the number of communities and people that benefit from improved access to cooking skills and opportunity.
This leads to improved resilience, family and community connection and better health, leading to greater life chances.
What are we looking for?We are looking for someone that shares our belief that everyone deserves access to good food and benefit from skills, health, knowledge and confidence derived from cooking for themselves and their family.
- Strong commitment to inclusiveness and equality.
- Demonstrable professional legal experience in developing franchises, community models.
- Experience in working with charities.
You will be advising on the legal processes and tasks involved in developing this social franchise so that the charity can develop a cost-effective community‑led offering quickly and efficiently.
- Organisational structure and constitutional changes
- Protecting intellectual property
- The franchise agreement
- Due diligence processes for recruitment
- Ongoing management of franchisees.
- Ending agreement where things go wrong.
