Position: Support & Inclusion Officer - Rough Sleeper - 12 month Fixed term contract - 2 posts

Support & Inclusion Officer – Rough Sleeping Prevention Team

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Join our innovative team to support people who have experienced rough sleeping to find and maintain accommodation. You will help clients secure housing in the long and short term and assist them with access to relevant support services. You will work within BCP’s Strategic Housing team and partner with a wide range of agencies and teams.

Responsibilities
  • Support people who experience rough sleeping or are recovering from homelessness to secure suitable accommodation.
  • Assist clients in identifying and accessing relevant support services.
  • Work independently and remotely when required, maintaining excellent team working and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Travel across the BCP area to meet clients in community sites, temporary accommodation and client homes.
  • Reflect on practice and understand personal limitations, demonstrating resilience in a busy, fast‑moving environment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience supporting vulnerable people, preferably those affected by homelessness.
  • Excellent customer service skills, empathy, emotional intelligence, and trauma‑informed practice.
  • Ability to travel throughout the BCP area and work in community settings.
  • Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
  • Right to work in the UK; must be able to evidence right to work and commit to contract duration.
Legal and Safety Requirements

Applicants will be required to complete the appropriate level of Disclosure & Barring Service Check. This post is covered by Part7 of the Immigration Act (2016); fluent English is essential. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
