Position: Support & Inclusion Officer - Fixed term 12 month and 24 month contracts

Support and Inclusion Officer

Starting salary for this role is £32,061 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues). This role is within a well‑defined pay band and offers clear progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with customers experiencing homelessness, providing support and resources to secure settled housing (Relief team).
  • Support customers in temporary accommodation after hospital discharge, working with specialist housing officers and hospital teams to reduce delayed discharges and repeat admissions (Hospital Discharge team).
  • Assist care‑experienced young people and unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children to secure suitable housing; collaborate with BCP Children’s Social Care and CEYP teams, support accommodation planning, prevention and move‑on (CEYP team).
  • Communicate effectively with customers and partner agencies, manage a caseload with competing demands.
  • Collaborate with other teams and partner agencies to provide tailored support and maintain accommodation.
  • Identify creative solutions to prevent and relieve homelessness.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Awareness of homelessness and its root causes; ability to build rapport, exercise empathy and provide trauma‑informed support.
  • Experience in this field desirable, but relevant attitude and behaviours will be considered.
  • Fluent spoken English; this post is covered by Part7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Right to work in the UK; a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
  • Applicants must complete a Disclosure & Barring Service Check.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid working opportunities and flexible working available.
  • Part‑time contracts of 18.5 hours and full‑time contracts of 37 hours.
