Position: Support and Inclusion Officer - Rough Sleeper - 12 month Fixed term contract - 2 posts

Support & Inclusion Officer – Rough Sleeping Prevention Team

Starting salary £32,061 (pro rata for part-time) for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role sits within a well‑defined pay band offering clear progression and is located across BCP’s community sites, temporary accommodation and client homes.

Job Summary

As a Support & Inclusion Officer, you will work within BCP’s Strategic Housing team and partner with a wide range of teams and agencies to support people who have experienced rough sleeping or are recovering from homelessness. Your role is to help secure accommodation, identify and access support services, and provide compassionate, trauma‑informed support.

Responsibilities
  • Support people to secure long‑term and short‑term accommodation.
  • Identify and connect individuals with relevant support services.
  • Provide person‑centred care, demonstrating empathy, emotional intelligence and a trauma‑informed approach.
  • Work effectively in a busy, fast‑moving environment, remaining flexible and resilient.
  • Operate independently, remotely when required, while maintaining excellent teamwork and communication.
  • Attend to details and reflect on practice and limitations.
  • Travel throughout the BCP area to work in the community.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience supporting vulnerable people, particularly those experiencing homelessness.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Good understanding of homelessness causes and support services.
  • Right to work in the UK and commitment to the full contract duration.
  • Excellent communication skills in fluent English (required by Part7 of the Immigration Act
    2016).
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
  • Required to complete the appropriate level of Disclosure & Barring Service Check.
