About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and proactive individuals to join our Housing Options and Partnerships team as Support and Inclusion Officers with a focus on domestic abuse. In this vital role, you will:

  • Support households to remain in their homes or secure longer‑term housing solutions.
  • Work creatively and collaboratively to prevent and relieve homelessness.
  • Provide trauma‑informed support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.
  • Deliver support in a variety of settings, including customers’ homes and temporary accommodation.
  • Work closely with domestic abuse partner agencies to provide holistic, tailored support packages.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload and conduct regular home visits to assess housing needs and risks.
  • Identify and assess support needs of individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, ensuring a trauma‑informed approach is embedded throughout the support process.
  • Make timely and appropriate referrals to specialist domestic abuse services and other relevant partner agencies to ensure clients receive comprehensive and coordinated support.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies to develop and implement tailored support plans that address the specific needs and risks associated with domestic abuse.
  • Support clients in temporary accommodation to transition into settled housing, including private rented, supported, and social housing.
  • Provide advice and assistance to prevent eviction and sustain tenancies across various housing types.
  • Negotiate with landlords, family members, and other stakeholders to prevent homelessness.
  • Assist clients in accessing benefits, budgeting, and securing essential items for resettlement.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and records in line with safeguarding and data protection policies.
  • Attend and contribute to multi‑agency meetings, case conferences, and supervision sessions.
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Fluent in English.

    Ability to travel across the BCP area.
  • Completion of Level 1 and Level 2 Domestic Abuse training within the first month of employment.
  • Completion of Survivor Trust Domestic Abuse training within three months of employment.
  • Willingness to undertake further training as required.
