Full time Deputyship Officer – Managing Other People’s Money Team

Starting salary: £34,434 (pro‑rata for part‑time). The role is part of a clearly defined pay band that offers progression over time.

Deputyship Officer responsible for managing a caseload of DWP Appointeeship and Court of Protection cases, administering day‑to‑day finances for approximately fifty people.

• Ensure recipients receive the correct welfare benefits.
• Safeguard savings and spend money in the person’s best interests.
• Develop affordable spending plans in partnership with clients.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of all financial activity.
• Visit clients in their homes; a valid driving licence and access to a car are required.
• Collaborate with colleagues from Adult Social Care and BCP Council.

• Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively.
• Excellent communicator with strong mathematical aptitude.
• Experience or strong empathy for vulnerable adults (severely disabled, struggling with addiction, or lacking mental capacity) is preferred.

• Not eligible for visa sponsorship; applicants must have an existing right to work in the UK.
• Applicants will need to complete the appropriate level of Disclosure & Barring Service (DSB) Check.
