Caritas Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Locum Social Worker to join a well-established Children and Families First Team within a Good-rated Local Authority.
This long-term locum opportunity sits within a supportive service holding Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Looked After Children (LAC) cases. The team benefits from manageable caseloads, regular monthly supervision and a positive working environment where practitioners are supported to deliver high-quality outcomes for children and families.

About the Role

As a Social Worker within the Children and Families First Team, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of CIN, CP and Looked After Children cases, undertaking assessments, planning interventions and ensuring children receive effective support and protection.
The local authority prides itself on strong team morale, supportive management and a commitment to maintaining manageable caseloads, enabling social workers to focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for children.

Essential Requirements

Social Work England Registration
Right to Work in the UK
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience within a statutory English Local Authority
Experience managing CIN, Child Protection and Looked After Children cases
CV must clearly evidence how the DfE experience requirements are met
Essential car user with access to own vehicle
Able to commit to 3 days per week in the office within the BCP area
Full-time availability
Ideally locally based
