Homelessness Support Worker - Bournemouth
Location: Bournemouth
Job Type: Temporary / Ad Hoc Shifts
Service: Homelessness Accommodation
Hours: Flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends as required
We are currently looking for experienced and reliable Homelessness Support Workers to provide ad hoc cover within a homelessness accommodation service in Bournemouth.
This is a temporary, flexible role
, ideal for support workers who are looking to pick up additional shifts or prefer the flexibility of ad hoc work.
Working within a supported accommodation setting, you will provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing homelessness and other complex circumstances.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing day-to-day support to residents within the accommodation service
- Supporting individuals to maintain their tenancy or accommodation
- Promoting independence, wellbeing and positive life choices
- Building professional and supportive relationships with residents
- Responding appropriately to challenging situations and incidents
- Completing welfare checks and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting residents to access relevant services and community resources
- Following safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational procedures
- Working effectively with colleagues and other professionals
We are particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience working within homelessness, supported housing, hostels, mental health, substance misuse, complex needs or other social care settings
. We are also keen speak to individuals who have worked in hospitality and are keen to explore an opportunity in the social care sector.
You should be:
- Confident working with vulnerable adults and people with complex needs
- Able to maintain professional boundaries
- Calm and resilient when dealing with challenging situations
- A good communicator with a non-judgemental approach
- Reliable and able to work independently when required
- Flexible and available for ad hoc shifts
- Temporary, ad hoc shift work
- Flexible working to fit around your availability
