- Support young people with their wellbeing, confidence and independence
. - Coach practical skills including cooking, budgeting, shopping and managing a home
. - Encourage education, employment and personal goals.
- Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
- Help young people develop the skills they need for a successful transition to independence.
- Work with colleagues and partner agencies to provide effective support.
- Maintain accurate records and help create a safe, welcoming environment.
- Promote safeguarding and respond appropriately to incidents and concerns.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, reliable and positive
, with a genuine desire to help young people succeed. - Confident working independently and lone working with up to 5–6 young people
. - Calm and resilient when faced with challenging situations.
- A strong communicator with good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Experienced in supporting young or vulnerable people.
- Committed to completing an NVQ Level 4 in Children and Young People
.
Experience in supported accommodation, social care or trauma-informed practice is desirable.
The practical details- £13.67 per hour
- £32,846 per annum
- 37 hours per week
- Based in Bournemouth & Poole
. - Full UK driving licence essential as the role covers two locations.
- Lone working is required, including overnight sleep-ins. A private room is provided
. - Employee-Owned Trust – share in our success.
- 5.6 weeks’ annual leave, increasing with service.
- Free DBS and Blue Light Card
. - Fully paid induction and ongoing training.
- Funded qualifications and genuine career progression.
- Salary progression after probation based on relevant qualifications or achievement of NVQ Level 4.
