Automotive Technician / Mechanic
DARCARS Automotive Group – Bowie, MD
Earnings: $30 - $50 per hour + Seniority Bonus
Responsibilities- Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair orders.
- Make accurate use of the multi‑point inspection form on each vehicle.
- Communicate with the service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Maintain technician proficiency as specified by DARCARS standards.
- Conduct road tests to determine required work and confirm completion when necessary and practical.
- Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles.
- Perform all levels of preventive or routine maintenance services.
- Utilize product and technical training assigned by the manufacturer and management.
- Participate in manufacturer‑sponsored training programs and schools to continuously expand knowledge of new technology.
- Maintain manufacturer (CSI) Customer Satisfaction Index at or above DARCARS specified goals for district, regional, and national scores.
- Complete the work, notations, and time‑keeping necessary for warranty repair orders and filing of warranty claims.
- Report to management any situation or condition that could jeopardize safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers, or employees.
- Ensure customers’ vehicles are returned clean and in the condition received.
- Understand and complete required compliance training for federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right‑to‑Know.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and company policy regarding safeguarding customer vehicles, property, and information.
- Other duties may be assigned by management.
- 3+ years of automotive technician experience.
- Certified in factory training (preferred).
- ASE and A/C certifications (preferred).
- CSI and Quality scores above regional average.
- Must have basic tools.
- Must be proficient in all vehicle maintenance services.
- Must be a team player with the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment screening (background).
- 4‑day work week available.
