This position requires full-performance technician work responsible for public safety communications in an emergency communications center. Incumbents are required to use radio, call taking, and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems along with other computer equipment to evaluate citizen requests for public safety service, dispatch appropriate emergency resources within assigned area and class capabilities, and track events to identified conclusion.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of responsible work experience as a Public Safety Emergency Dispatcher
- Certified Maryland State National Crime Information Center (NCIC) CN2 training course
- Certified American Heart Association (AHA) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Basic Life Support (CPR/BLS) course for Health Care Providers
- Completed the Practical and Academic Public Safety Dispatcher I/II training program
* COVID-19 vaccination is strongly preferred*
Rate: $28.22 per hour ($58,689.40 annually) depending on qualifications
