Description Job Summary
The Safety Supervisor plays a key role in fostering a safe, compliant, and proactive workplace. This position is responsible for implementing and enforcing company safety policies, developing and maintaining health and safety programs, conducting regular facility inspections, and ensuring adherence to all applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively across all levels of the organization, and approaches workplace safety with a forward-thinking, solutions-driven mindset.
RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities
- Conduct frequent inspections of the facility to identify potential safety, health, and environmental hazards.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine inspection policies, procedures, and routine inspection schedules.
- Create, update, and enforce health and safety procedures for all departments within the organization.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver training sessions on emergency preparedness, safe work practices, hazard communication, and other EHS topics.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures, follow up on deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.
- Prepare and distribute detailed inspection reports documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective measures.
- Ensure all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are current, organized, and easily accessible.
- Maintain accurate records of employee exposure to hazardous materials and pollutants, including reports of spills or discharges, as required by law.
- Complete and submit OSHA logs, incident reports, and other required safety documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in incident investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance safety culture and reduce workplace risks.
- Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency with environmental inspection tools and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety, health, or environmental compliance roles (required).
- 5 years of related experience strongly preferred in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
