Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a talented and dynamic Director of Recreational Therapy to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals!

About Rivendell:

Rivendell is a 149 inpatient psychiatric hospital located in the heart of Bowling Green, KY on a 49 acre campus. At Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital, children who are in crisis receive psychiatric care. Teens suffering from depression, disabling anxiety, feelings of hopelessness or suicide can learn new ways to cope. Teens and adults suffering from chemical dependency and substance abuse can get help.

Senior adults in need of psychiatric treatment for early onset of dementia, depression, anxiety, thoughts of suicide and behavioral problems are treated in a positive, secure and compassionate environment.

We are seeking a Director of Recreational/Expressive Therapy to lead and elevate therapeutic programming that empowers individuals through recreation, art, music, movement, and other expressive modalities.

In this leadership role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative therapeutic services that support emotional well-being, personal growth, and patient engagement. Working alongside a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will guide a talented group of therapists while creating enriching experiences that make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for Recreational and Expressive Therapy programs.
• Develop engaging, evidence-based therapeutic activities that support treatment goals.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of therapy professionals.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to enhance patient care and satisfaction.

• Recreational Therapist:
  Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited
  university and eligible to sit for national exam conducted through the National
  Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
