Manufacturing Technician (Night Shift)

Georgia Pacific is hiring a Manufacturing Technician to work on the night shift at our Bowling Green, KY facility. This role supports our Dixie® paper plates and bowls production in the Logistics, Printing, Packaging, and Plate Forming Press departments.

Pay & Shift

Pay rate: $23.11 per hour plus a $2.00 per hour shift differential for the night shift (6:30 pm – 7:00 am). The position is a full-time night shift role with a 12‑hour schedule: 36 hours one week and 48 hours the following week, paid for 40 hours one week and 40 hours the following week.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets.
  • Monitor and enter data into computer control systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production.
  • Perform basic asset care duties, including routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of work area.
  • Work as a team to meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals.
  • Operate and/or work around mobile equipment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and pulling for up to 12 hours a day in a loud/noisy, industrial high‑volume environment.
  • Occasionally lift boxes that weigh 60‑80 lbs to shoulder height.
  • Work with changeovers and setting up equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience operating and maintaining machines in a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or military environment, or completion of a post‑high school program centered on manufacturing/industrial skills.

Preferred Experience (What will put you ahead)

  • Experience using SAP.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or electrical skills in an industrial environment.
  • Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device.
