Job Summary and Qualifications
The Cardiac Cath Lab RN Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.
What you will do in this role:
• Integrate department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions; coordinate and integrate the services within Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography with other departments.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
• Recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care.
• Determine the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient care services and who are not licensed independent practitioners.
• Continuously assess and improve assigned area’s performance.
• Maintain appropriate quality control programs.
• Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in the departments.
• Function as the Chest Pain Center Coordinator.
• Act as the cultural/educational PI processing champion for Chest Pain Accreditation.
• Participate in the Chest Pain Center Accreditation Team.
• Coordinate the process changes/improvements to meet current established standard guidelines for cardiac care.
• Offer annual education to staff and assisting the Education Department in providing Chest Pain information to new hires.
• Assist in CV risk screening to internal and external communities annually, including EMS providers for focused community outreach.
