American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring telemetry experience and NIH Stroke certification.

• 36-bed telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 4:1 with cath recovery, 6:1 max, occasionally stretched to 7:1
• Unit supported by PCTs on day and night shift, with unit clerks on day shift
• Uses remote telemetry monitors and Alaris pumps
• Documentation via Meditech
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Agency staff float first, potentially to Ortho or Med-Surg

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry experience required
• Knowledge of chest tubes and dysrhythmia training required
• Experience with chest tube insertions, bedside paracentesis, and thoracentesis preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Provide telemetry monitoring and care to patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions
• Assist with chest tube insertions, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures as needed
• Follow unit telemetry monitoring and stroke care policies
• Scrubs required, any color except camo
• Unit recognized with Daisy and Bee award certificates and a monthly staff-voted STAR award
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Strive to maintain a 75% patient satisfaction rate
