*
* Essential Functions:

*** Performs triage by collecting current information, as well as a detailed patient history and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs, using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI), triage level system.
* Performs patient care and patient care procedures, including IV therapy, wound cleansing and dressing, immobilizations, medication administration and assessments, reassessments and discharge education.
* Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes the patient until seen by the provider, based upon nursing standards and protocols
* Provides any and all ACLS/PALS interventions
* Works directly under physicians, assisting with exams, diagnostic testing and treatment
* Documents on the EMR systems, appropriately and completely on patients.
* Delegates tasks to Paramedics, LPNs & CNAs, as needed
* Communicates and collaborates with other staff members, patients, family/visitors and other departments within the hospital
* Any and all other duties assigned by Nurse Manager## Qualifications

* QUALIFICATIONS:

**
* Education:

Associates or Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited nursing school
* Licensure in Kentucky or Compact State License
* BLS, ACLS, PALS. TNCC preferred or required within 1 year of employment.

* Experience:

Two years minimum experience in ED required

*** Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean according to TCH standards
* Complete annual education requirements and attend annual mandatory skills fair
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
* Report to work on time and as scheduled
* Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations
* Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times
* Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices
* Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization
* Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities
* Attend staff meetings and in-services
