Overview

The Route Sales Support Driver builds solid, positive working relationships with customers and is highly motivated to exceed their expectations and requirements. In a highly competitive environment, successful RSSs must balance exceptional customer service with meeting and exceeding individual sales growth goals.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a company step van in the designated area to provide products and service to a variety of clients.
• Verify daily preventative maintenance of vehicle and maintain proper operator documentation.
• Manage daily route independently to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.
• Load/unload product per company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Review invoices daily for complete and accurate information and correct as needed.
• Meet sales goals and promote overall route growth to enhance profitability.
• Develop leads/prospects, call prospective customers to solicit business, prepare service agreements, and install new accounts.
• Assist the sales organization with the procurement of additional new business.
• Communicate services, policies, and pricing to customers clearly.
• Monitor customer feedback and handle customer issues promptly and courteously.
• Take responsibility for personal safety and watch out for the safety of others; use safe precautions, proper tools, and equipment.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the activities enumerated above.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age, valid driver’s license, and excellent driving record.
• Customer service experience with a wide variety of consistent customer contact.
• Strong math and basic computer skills.
• Demonstrated experience selling services/products and generating new business (preferred).
• Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and think quickly to identify and solve customer concerns.

Working Environment & Safety Requirements

Exposure to adverse and varying weather conditions; fast‑paced environment with irregular and long hours; physically capable of routinely lifting and maneuvering a minimum of 25 lbs., and occasionally 50+ lbs., including bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.

Experience & Education

• High school degree or equivalent.

License & Certification

Valid Driver License.
