Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical, brake, cooling, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials).
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions; road‑test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
  • Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound judgment decisions.
  • Independently manage parts inventory, perform periodic reconciliation, and maintain the company‑issued service truck.
  • Conduct safety checks and complete pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
  • Work with clients and customers to understand needs and provide solutions.
  • Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
  • Document work on Repair Orders (RO) with pictures and parts usage via the TRAIT application.
  • Complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity, meeting Standard Repair Times.
  • Obtain parts from approved vendors when necessary.
  • Communicate with management and support teams to obtain repair estimate approvals and discuss RO findings.
  • Actively comply with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of related experience (alternative combinations accepted).
  • Have a set of hand tools required for job duties.
  • Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screen and DOT physical (or submit a DOT medical card with >4 months validity).
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean Driver Qualification File.

Compensation

Hourly base rate:
USD 26.73 – 40.10 per hour
, varying based on location and experience. Additional compensation may include commission and incentive programs.
