Commercial Dock & Door Lead Technician

Johnson Equipment is looking for an experienced Commercial Dock & Door Lead Technician with hands-on experience servicing and repairing high-speed roll-up doors—Rytec experience strongly preferred.

We are a full-service forklift sales, service, and rental company that also provides complete commercial dock and door service, including overhead doors, high-speed doors, dock levelers, restraints, bumpers, and related equipment.

We are looking for more than just a technician. The right person will be someone who wants to grow with our company, build customer relationships, and quickly take on greater responsibility within our service operation.

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair high-speed roll-up doors, overhead doors, dock levelers, restraints, and related dock equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Work directly with customers, build relationships, and identify additional repair, upgrade, or service opportunities.
• Assist with estimates, project bidding, parts sourcing, and other service-related needs as your role develops.

• Professional experience with commercial high-speed doors, overhead doors, and/or dock equipment.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills; electrical, hydraulic, and welding.
• Someone who communicates well with customers and is comfortable taking initiative.
• Interest and ability to grow beyond field work into greater customer, operational, and leadership responsibility.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Forklift mechanical/service experience is a strong bonus.

This position is intended for someone who wants more than a traditional field technician role. For the right person, we expect the position to quickly develop into a key role within our service department, with increasing responsibility for customer relationships, estimating, developing other technicians, and helping oversee day-to-day service operations.
