SUMMARY:

• The Cost Accountant provides financial decision‑making support by collecting, analyzing, and reporting cost data. This position is responsible for supporting roll‑form operations at both the Bowling Green, Ohio, and Lacassine, Louisiana, facilities. The role leads and performs cycle counts to ensure all materials are accurately verified and reported and supports the organization in maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity.

JOB DUTIES:

• Performs daily inventory cycle counts on raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and non‑conforming materials.
• Provides root cause analysis of discrepancies in inventory to recommend preventative measures.
• Records all inventory changes and inputs inventory data into the ERP system.
• Evaluates transactions and movements in the ERP system to resolve count discrepancies.
• Maintains cost information in the ERP system and assists in implementing new processes.
• Prepares and distributes monthly reports and analyses for scrap and inventory, and maintains cost information files.
• Participates in physical inventory counts and assists with analyzing results and variances.
• Assists Plant Controller with month‑end and year‑end processes, aids in closing books for month‑end and year‑end, and prepares financial statements.
• Maintains standard costs for the current year and prepares standard costs for the future year’s budgets.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments related to inventory accuracy and accounting.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work is performed in a climate‑controlled manufacturing environment; may experience occasional fluctuations in temperature.
• Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods.
• Must be able to bend at the waist and knees, walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds when necessary.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and frequently climb (stairs).
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be flexible and able to change schedule and hours of work to meet the needs of the organization.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE &

SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree required and 2+ years accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be computer literate and proficient with MS Office and Windows (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Experience with Epicor or similar ERP system preferred.
• Must be detail‑oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to interface and communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with external customers and all levels within the organization.
• Ability to self‑motivate and work in a dynamic environment.
