Construction Manager - Data Center Design, Engineering, & Construction
Join Meta’s Data Center Engineering & Construction Team as an experienced Construction Manager. Data centers form the backbone of our rapidly scaling infrastructure, delivering high uptime, capacity availability, and capital conservation. The team handles everything from chip to chiller, optimizing configurations for maximum efficiency of our compute infrastructure.
Base Pay Range$/yr - $/yr
Responsibilities- Manage the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Data Center within a campus program.
- Oversee project budget, cost change process, and negotiate best pricing.
- Control schedule and associated risks to meet reliable, predictable turnover dates.
- Handle warranty and tenant improvement work in the live environment as needed.
- Communicate upward on project status and risks.
- Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders.
- Mitigate project risks through pre‑planning, innovative planning, and partnership.
- Develop cost‑saving solutions and identify project savings/underruns early.
- Partner with General Contractors, Vendors, and Cross‑Functional Partners to foster collaboration.
- Coordinate with Procurement/Sourcing to support project needs.
- Support pre‑construction efforts for upcoming projects and promote prefabrication strategies.
- Support the development of Capital Project Budgets and Constructions ROMs.
- Assist campus construction management with book‑of‑work responsibilities.
- Support on‑site inspection processes to ensure zero punch‑list and expedited turnover to Fac Ops.
- Collaborate with regional construction operations for regional workbooks.
- Provide local DC Ops team and other cross‑functional departments with support as needed.
- Promote continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork in behaviors and communications.
- Lead an industry‑leading safety program.
- Encourage a culture of giving, seeking, and receiving 360‑degree feedback.
- Travel up to 10% to headquarters.
- Respond to emergencies on an as‑needed basis.
- 7+ years of construction management experience.
- Multi‑project experience in large‑scale, mission‑critical, infrastructure, or data center construction.
- General knowledge of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Capital budget management and contract administration experience.
- Strong negotiation skills and problem‑solving experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred, equivalent experience considered).
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards (fire protection, etc.).
- Lean Construction knowledge and application.
- Familiarity with P6, ACCT Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
- Building environment accreditations (LEED, SITES, TRUE, WELL).
