We are looking for a Hardware Electrical Engineer to design, test, and implement hardware systems for machines in our New Product Development (NPD). You will also play a key role in standardizing hardware components and developing best practices to ensure consistency across the organization.

About the Role
As a Hardware Electrical Engineer, you will design, test, and implement hardware systems for machines in NPD. You will be responsible for standardizing hardware components and developing best practices to ensure consistency across the organization. A strong understanding of hardware design principles and industrial automation systems is critical for success in this role.

What You’ll Do

Ownership of Hardware: as the person responsible for the hardware components within NPD projects, ensure all design processes comply with established standards.

Development of new hardware concepts: design solutions for non-standard hardware requirements that can be scaled and standardized.

Feasibility studies and component evaluation: conduct feasibility studies for new non-standard hardware components, industrialize promising options, document recommendations, and standardize new components for future decisions.

Standardization of Hardware Designs: develop and maintain thorough documentation for hardware standards, contribute to a repository of best practices, stay updated on hardware trends, and continuously refine standards in alignment with the vision and roadmap of Poultry Innovation.

Implementation, integration and testing: guide the creation of electrical plans, participate in system integration, commissioning, and start‑up activities, ensuring hardware systems are installed and tested according to test plans and best practices; customer visits are part of the job.

Preferred candidates have a diverse educational background and/or relevant experience in manufacturing companies, service management, technical roles, process management, and customer support. Extensive knowledge of processes and IT is essential.

Ideally you hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Technical proficiency and problem‑solving: strong ability to address complex hardware issues and standardize solutions across projects.

Communication and collaboration: excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, and manage varied stakeholders across groups. Excellent English skills;
Dutch language skills are preferred.

Hands‑on and methodical: hands‑on approach combined with structured and organized documentation of hardware designs, ensuring alignment with best practices.

Proactive and detail‑oriented: proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, able to drive standardization and innovate to meet the vision and roadmap for Marel Innovation.

Broad technical knowledge: familiarity with safety regulations, hygienic design standards, industrial communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, Powerlink, OPC/UA), and proficiency with tools such as E‑plan for reviewing hardware designs.

Enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
