Position: Improvement Officer - Start-up of a new pharmaceutical facility

Improvement Officer – Start‑up of a new pharmaceutical facility

You will be part of the largest and most versatile pharmaceutical company in the Netherlands, helping to launch a brand‑new, digital, state‑of‑the‑art facility in Boxmeer. The role is integral to opening and optimizing manufacturing operations for animal health products.

Responsibilities
  • Combine subject‑matter expertise with continuous improvement and development.
  • Optimize processes and deliver training.
  • Initiate and lead technical improvements, such as updates in process automation.
  • Support implementation of new equipment and ways of working.
  • Assist with product transfers and optimizations.
  • Manage and maintain production data in SAP.
  • Prepare change controls for modifications in processes or equipment.
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and perform root‑cause analyses.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance & Reliability on maintenance improvements.
  • Serve as the go‑to expert in process software.
  • Identify deviations and translate them into concrete improvement actions.
  • Lead or contribute to projects where the solution is not yet defined.
  • Review and improve protocols, logbooks, and work instructions.
  • Support implementation of production processes and systems (e.g., MES/E , OEE+, RTMS and MDH).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) and at least 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, chemical, or food environment.
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of GMP, production processes, and preferably automation (MES/E ).
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Fluency in Dutch or English.
  • Team‑oriented mindset and passion for improvement, building, and delivering results.
