Job Description
The Senior Accountant supports the Controller in the daily functions of the accounting department for Praesum Healthcare and all Affiliates.
Senior Accountant Duties- Assists in preparing financial statements in accordance with all applicable accounting policies
- Posts receipts and disbursements to the appropriate journals
- Assists in month‑end reconciliations
- Ensures all reports and information are accurate through the use of checks and balances
- Communicates potential problems to management personnel
- Maintain Fixed Assets schedules
- Bank reconciliation
- Manage prepaid schedules
- Reconcile Intercompany Accounts
- Month‑end journal entries
- Assist in year‑end audit
- Other duties as required
- Opportunity to mentor/coach junior accountants
- BS in Accounting/Finance, required
- Basic knowledge of GAAP required
- CPA preferred
- 2+ years public accounting experience preferred
- Auditing experience preferred
- Demonstrates proficiency in communication & written skills
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus but not required
- Minimum of 3‑5 year’s experience in accounting preferably in the healthcare industry
