General Superintendent

The incumbent assumes responsibility for managing all field operations on assigned projects, in order to achieve timely and profitable completion. S/he directly supervises superintendents, foremen, and field labor (including subcontractors), and exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

Base salary range of $115K - $130K

• Oversees the total construction effort in accordance with design, budget, quality, and schedule on all active construction projects.
• Determines manpower needs and submits requisitions for field labor.
• Schedules assignments of superintendents and placement of labor force personnel on all projects.
• Provides technical assistance as needed, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection inspection of contractor or subcontractor operations to ensure compliance with the contract.
• Develops and maintains relationships with internal/external clients and key stakeholders.
• Collaborates with project managers and superintendents to create site logistics plans.
• Monitors cost, including labor time and material, and makes adjustments as needed.
• Communicates and enforces the Safety and Health Management Program.
• Demonstrates commitment to an injury‑free environment through personal accountability and mentoring.
• Prepares detailed short‑term schedules and ensures activities take place on/ahead of scheduled dates.
• Monitors Superintendent Deliverables Report on a weekly basis to ensure completion.
• Coordinates training and education to support field superintendents and field labor.
• Acts in lieu of superintendents as scheduling or business needs dictate.
• Executes HR‑related decisions (promotions, salary adjustments, corrective actions, etc.) for direct reports.

• This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and printers.
• Work tasks necessitate travel to local job sites/field locations, which means intermittent exposure to the conditions typically associated with a construction site.
• Depending on the work location, the incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise, poor ventilation/lighting, and other hazards or conditions typically associated with a construction job site.

• In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

• This position may require up to 20% travel.

• 8+ years of relevant experience (including industry and construction execution).
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Current OSHA Certification.
• Strong decision making, problem solving, and time management skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google products.
