PACU Nurse

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PACU nurse seeking a per‑diem position in an office or OR environment in the East Boynton Beach area. The role is Monday and Tuesday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.

• Responsible for pre‑op and post‑op phone calls.
• Oversee inventory, stocking and ordering of all OR supplies.
• Prepare the operating room for the patient by assembling supplies and instruments and ensuring proper functioning of equipment.
• Develop policies and procedures for quality care in the OR setting pre‑op and post‑op.
• Prior knowledge of allergic responses and prescribed protocol (emergency drugs, asthma drugs, etc.).
• Assess patient’s condition and monitor post‑surgical recovery.
• Maintain good rapport with other departments and within your own department.
• Ensure stability of patient’s vital signs and administer medication when appropriate.
• Assist physician and/or physician assistant in exam rooms.
• Assist physician and/or physician assistant with in‑office procedures and surgeries.
• Ensure that appropriately trained personnel, equipment and supplies are available for all surgical procedures.
• Assess and document patient status upon admission and on an ongoing basis until discharge.
• Assist in the development of and adherence to center policies and procedures to assess quality care.
• Review charts for quality and assurance.
• Assist in yearly state inspection with zero deficiencies.

Coordination, manual and physical dexterity sufficient to properly use various office equipment. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and assisting in the transfer of a patient from a wheelchair to an exam table or chair. The incumbent must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

• RN license (required).
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in OR & PACU setting.
• 1 year of experience in EMR systems.
• 1 year of experience monitoring vital signs.
