The Back of House position is essential to the smooth and efficient operation of our establishment located in Boynton West, 015. This role focuses on supporting the front of house by managing inventory, preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all kitchen and storage areas meet health and safety standards. The successful candidate will work closely with kitchen staff and management to facilitate timely food preparation and delivery.
Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical to maintaining stock levels and minimizing waste. Ultimately, this role ensures that the behind-the-scenes operations run seamlessly, contributing to an excellent customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., Serv Safe).
- Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Prepare ingredients and assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, storage, and work areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management to prevent shortages.
- Assist with waste management and recycling efforts to promote sustainability.
The required skills such as attention to detail and knowledge of food safety are applied daily to ensure all food preparation and storage meet regulatory standards, preventing contamination and spoilage. Physical stamina and organizational skills help manage inventory efficiently and maintain a clean, orderly workspace, which supports the kitchen's productivity. Preferred skills like certification in food handling enhance the candidate's ability to uphold high safety standards and contribute to training others.
