Store Driver

Job Description

This role involves participating in the delivery of automotive parts to professional customers, handling returns, promoting sales materials, collecting credit accounts, and maintaining a clean workspace while providing insights to improve customer relationships.

Position Responsibilities

• Pick, stage, and safely deliver parts to pro customers
• Pick up returns and cores
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
• Daily collection of credit accounts
• Build and maintain relationships with Main Street and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
• Assist in upselling and cross‑selling products to increase average transaction value
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
• General stocking including truck stocking, back stock, and cycle counts
• Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
• Engage with walk‑in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
• Other duties as assigned

Essential

Job Skills and Requirements

• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and leadership
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
• Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
• Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques

Prior Experience

• Automotive parts experience is preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Physical Demands

The employee will predominantly be walking or standing, communicate, use hands and fingers to handle items, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work

Environment

The employee is usually working inside but may occasionally be outside and exposed to weather conditions while installing batteries and wiper blades. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration may occur. The noise level is usually moderate.
