Full-Time | $80,000-$95,000+ Based on ExperienceImmediate Start
IF YOU'RE THE PERSON EVERYONE CALLS WHEN THE JOB GETS TOUGH...
We want to talk to you.
Precision Building Products is looking for an experienced Lead Commercial Door & Hardware Installer / Field Supervisor to take a leadership role in our growing South Florida installation operation.
We're not looking for someone who simply knows how to hang a door.
We're looking for someone who can walk onto a commercial jobsite, look at the drawings, understand the scope, see what's wrong, figure out what needs to happen next, and lead a crew to get the job done right.
If that's you, this is an opportunity to move beyond being "the guy who knows how to install it" and become a key leader in Precision's field operation.
THIS IS A FIELD LEADERSHIP POSITION.You'll still be hands-on. But you won't just be installing.
You'll be responsible for leading crews, coordinating with GCs and PMs, solving field problems, maintaining quality, controlling productivity, and making sure Precision's work is done right the first time.
You'll be the person our project managers and customers can rely on when the work reaches the field.
You'll have a seat at the table.
Your experience will influence:- How jobs are planned
- How crews are organized
- How installation standards are established
- How field problems are solved
- How installers are trained
- How project managers and field crews communicate
- How Precision builds its installation operation
We're building this capability - and we want an experienced field leader to help us build it.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DOLEAD THE CREW
- Lead commercial installation crews on active projects.
- Assign daily work and coordinate manpower.
- Set the standard for workmanship, productivity, and professionalism.
- Train and mentor installers.
- Hold the crew accountable for quality and schedule.
- Coordinate directly with GCs, superintendents, PMs, and other trades.
- Represent Precision professionally on the jobsite.
You will be expected to be a real commercial door professional.
You should be comfortable installing and troubleshooting:
- Hollow Metal Doors & Frames
- Wood Doors
- Architectural Hardware
- Door Closers
- Exit Devices
- Locksets & Cylinders
- Electrified Hardware
- Access-Control Hardware
- Storefront Systems
- Glazing
- Architectural plans
- Door schedules
- Hardware schedules
- Shop drawings
- Specifications
- Installation details
And more importantly, you should know how those documents translate into what's actually happening in the field.
BE THE PROBLEM SOLVERConstruction doesn't always go according to plan.
Frames are wrong. Walls aren't ready. Hardware doesn't show up. Another trade is in the way. The opening doesn't match the drawing. The GC changes the schedule. The access-control contractor isn't ready. A lesser field leader calls the office and waits.
You figure out what can be done, communicate the issue, and move the project forward.
You will work closely with our project managers to identify issues early and prevent small problems from becoming expensive ones.
QUALITY IS YOUR SIGNATUREWhen Precision finishes a project, the doors need to:
- Look right.
- Operate correctly.
- Meet the specification.
- Meet code.
- Work with the hardware.
- Work with the access-control system.
- Stay working after you leave.
You will perform quality-control and punch-list inspections and make sure your crew's work meets Precision's standards before the GC finds the problem.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR A LEADER - NOT A FOREMAN IN TITLE ONLYThe right person will have:
- 5+ years of commercial door/frame/hardware experience
- 2+ years leading crews or projects
- Strong hollow-metal experience
- Strong architectural hardware experience
- Ability to read plans, door schedules, hardware schedules, and specifications
- Experience troubleshooting commercial openings
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to South Florida job sites
Experience with electrified hardware, access control, storefront, glazing, and fire-rated openings is highly desirable.
Spanish language skills are a plus.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT?You may already have a job. You may already be making decent money. You may already be the person your company depends on. But ask yourself:
What's next?
If you're the person who already trains the other installers...
If the PM calls you when something goes wrong...
If the GC trusts…
