About The Role

Passionate, warm, inspiring? Raise your hand if that's you! First Security Bank is hiring an Accounts Specialist to join our Cottonwood Branch Team. Greet customers with a smile, assess and fill their needs in a professional manner. Responsible for processing all new account transactions; assisting customers in their selection of various accounts and financial services. The Account Specialist demonstrates a high degree of accountability while delivering superb customer service.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Greet customers promptly and meet Service Pledge standards.
  • Build account relationships by effectively cross selling and referring additional products and services to the appropriate department.
  • Know the features and benefits for all checking, savings, money market, health savings, individual retirement, and certificate of deposit accounts.
  • Open accounts with complete documentation and complete follow up calls and thank you cards within required time frames. Complete MSB due diligence questions within streamline.
  • Actively participate in the High Performance Growth (HPG) program including Branch HPG displays, Big Days, and Tell a Friend program. Maintain HPG inventory and submit RMS reporting weekly.
  • Assist customers with Net Teller (online banking), Bill Pay and E-statements; order and follow up on check orders with the provider; process wire transfers and Safe Deposit Clerk duties as applicable.
  • Follow up with customers to complete pending items within the 30 day period. Perform CIF maintenance when account relationships change. Issue and maintain VISA Instant Issue and Check Cards.
  • Determine if a deposited check will require a Reg CC Hold and explain disclosures to the customer. Explain all new account disclosures for retail products.
  • Maintain basic knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues; comply with applicable laws and regulations (including Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, OFAC) and company policies. Complete assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Actively use the Service Pledge in all customer encounters.
About You Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service and clerical experience.
  • Previous bank experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skill, Ability
  • Work professionally with courtesy, customer service, and tact in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
  • Effectively sell and cross-sell bank services and accounts; maintain a pleasant, helpful demeanor toward customers and staff.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Working knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems.
  • Work well under pressure; meet multiple deadlines; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, sharing ideas and accepting suggestions.
Work Environment

The work environment is primarily indoors, with collaboration with others in a moderate noise level.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include sitting, repetitive hand motions, and the need to talk or hear. Occasional standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and climbing/descending stairs in emergencies may be required. Routine office equipment usage and computer work (approximately 6-8 hours per day) may be necessary. Ability to travel off site or work extended hours as required.
