Simulation Training Manager – Non‑Tenure Track Faculty

Full salary: $43,680 annually (commensurate with experience)
- Teach up to two courses, four sections per semester, including summer session. Courses include:
- AVFT 141, Advanced Navigation
- AVFT 143, Instrument Ground
- AVFT 245, Commercial Ground
- Others as needed
- Update existing course curriculum as directed by the Program Director.
- Create new course curriculum as directed by the Program Director.
- Manage current Aviation Program Simulator Lab. Ensure Redbird simulators and PC‑based desktop simulator stations are operational daily, maintain software, accessories, and network connectivity.
- Instruct students on simulator use in alignment with FAA requirements.
- Assist Program Director in procurement, shipping, and installation of a new full‑motion FAA‑approved flight simulation training device, and oversee daily use, maintenance, and certification oversight for student logging.
- Coordinate with AVFT 141 Advanced Navigation NTT to have all simulators fully functional during required class periods.
- Coordinate acquisition and use of Virtual Reality training systems to enhance student proficiency.
- Liaise with contracted flight provider for student flying training schedule and coordinate admissions orientation with MSU registrar and Gallatin College staff.
- Prepare reports for internal and external review (FAA).
- Bachelor’s degree in an aviation‑related field or higher.
- FAA‑Certified Flight Instructor.
- Experience instructing Garmin G‑1000 and similar avionics systems.
- FAA Certified Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI) and/or Instrument Instructor (IGI).
- Prior post‑secondary instructor experience.
- Experience mentoring and counseling high school‑age students in aviation and STEM.
- Experience instructing in Part 141 Pilot Schools.
- Demonstrate strong aviation skills and excellent communication.
- Show advanced organization, mentoring, coaching, public‑speaking, record‑keeping, and attention‑to‑detail.
