The Acute Care Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist provides essential healthcare services by assisting in the diagnosis or treatment of patients. The technologist performs CT procedures and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. This role involves operating a CT scanner to obtain high-quality images that aid in diagnosing and treating various patient pathologies. The technologist will utilize their expertise in imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to enhance image quality while minimizing exposure.

Additionally, routine quality inspections and maintenance of the scanner will be conducted as per organizational policies and manufacturer recommendations.

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program or equivalent
• ARRT R.T.(R) & advanced registry in CT, R.T.(CT)
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• Two years of radiology experience as a registered technologist

• One year of previous CT experience in a trauma center (level I or II)

• Perform CT exams and procedures for various hospital departments as requested by medical staff.
• Assist the Radiologist and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
• Complete necessary documentation for proper interpretation, reporting, and archiving of exams.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as described in the strategic plan.
• Work independently in a fast-paced, acute care environment.
• Train and support peers in imaging procedures and best practices.

• Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains professionalism at all times.
• Exercises discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality in patient interactions.
• Performs effectively in a busy, stressful environment.
• Possesses strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Effectively analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, assisting with patient needs when required.
• Role may involve extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting during shifts.
• Flexibility to work beyond a standard workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts may be necessary.

The job may involve exposure to:

• Bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases.
• Radiation during imaging procedures.
• Chemicals and disinfectants utilized in healthcare settings.
• Emotionally challenging situations involving distressed patients or families.

Holiday coverage is required for this position.
