Montana Conservation Corps' (MCC) mission is to inspire young people through hands‑on conservation service to be leaders, stewards of the land and engaged citizens who improve their communities. Founded in 1991, MCC is a private, nonprofit organization with approximately 40 staff and 300 members who serve each year in leader, member or intern positions. MCC receives federal grant money through the Corporation for National & Community Service to provide participant stipends, education awards and support for leadership development.
MemberDuties
- Assist in the completion of MCC natural resource projects.
- Crews will camp for most of their terms, often in remote locations.
- Work may include maintaining trails, treating invasive species, building fences, operating chainsaws to reduce wildfire risks by thinning trees, and many other types of projects.
- Not all members will work on all types of projects.
- Crews may be deployed for natural disaster relief.
- The CM is an Ameri Corps member and is entitled to the benefit package offered to all Ameri Corps members.
