We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and lab based individual to operate within and support our cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) structural biology functions, in our Bozeman, Montana facility. This is a technician level position, where the primary responsibility will be assisting scientists with preparation of samples for cryo-EM single particle analysis.

• Manage logistics, receipt, storage, and tracking of protein samples.
• Prepare protein samples for cryo-EM single particle analysis by vitrification.
• Support colleagues in collection of cryo-EM datasets.
• Communicate results with team members.
• Work with colleagues to develop new methodologies for cryo-EM single particle analysis of membrane proteins.
• Demonstrate initiative and discipline to execute experiments following established procedures.

• General biology, microbiology, or biochemical laboratory experience.
• Demonstrated experience in single-particle cryo-EM analysis (sample preparation, data collection, and/or image processing).
• Experience with delicate handling of fragile, small equipment, and with micro-pipetting.
• Experience with Linux/HPC computing.
• Technical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
