Physical Security Administrator

Bozeman, MT 59718.
The Physical Security Administrator is responsible for designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining all physical security systems. The position monitors and logs physical security systems daily, installs new software releases, performs system upgrades and patches, and resolves software‑related problems on all Physical Security systems.
Essential Job Functions- Serve as security officer for the front desk and the entire building, taking accountability for the life and safety of occupants, greeting vendors, clients, job applicants, and other visitors in a professional manner, and following appropriate security measures for proper guest check‑in.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including managing badges and keys, locking and unlocking doors, turning on and off lights, and responding to after‑hours on‑site situations as needed.
- Drive compliance with safety and security processes and provide leadership around proper procedures in emergency situations.
- Conduct and track security audits to identify potential problems related to physical security, staff safety, or asset protection.
- Review security logs and files daily to document any security issues that arise at Bozeman, Billings, Frankfurt, or Amsterdam locations to prove compliance with laws and regulations required by clients and auditors.
- Manage security systems, video surveillance, motion detection, or closed‑circuit television systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Recommend improvements in security systems or procedures to Corporate Security and Safety Officer.
- Engineer, install, maintain, or repair security systems, programmable logic controls, or other security‑related electronic systems.
- Assist with fire system inspections, intruder detection via CCTV systems, or other security systems as scheduled.
- Per mandate, perform inspections of security design features, installations, or programs to ensure compliance with applicable standards or regulations.
- Automate routine processes through shell scripts or batch programs.
- Prepare, maintain, or update security procedures, system drawings, and related documentation.
- Serve as fire marshal, ensuring fire and emergency evacuation procedures are up to date, running regular fire drills, keeping on‑site medical supplies and emergency equipment (AED) up to date, coordinating biennial first aid and CPR certification training, and maintaining relationships with external first responders.
- Obtain and maintain State of Montana Board of Private Security Guard license with firearm endorsement, including pre‑licensure training and annual continuing education.
- Comply with Zoot’s Policies and Procedures, Code of Business Conduct, and Employee Agreement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Security, or related field required.
- 3+ years of experience in physical security and customer service; previous military, law enforcement, emergency medical, or private security experience preferred.
- Certifications:
CPR, First Aid, and AED required. - Licenses:
State of Montana Board of Private Security Guard license with firearm endorsement, Alarm Installer’s License, Resident Manager’s License, Security Guard License, and Armed Security Guard License.
- Move about inside an office environment, operate computers, and communicate with employees, clients, vendors, and visitors.
- Long periods of sitting at a computer workstation and occasional moving around the building related to physical security demands.
- May require lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Primarily in an office setting with a cubicle in an open space environment.
- Must report to work on‑site during normal business hours.
- Occasional nighttime and weekend work required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
