Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Service Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Perform inspections of electrical systems to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in various settings.
- Replace faulty wiring and components and upgrade electrical systems as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently and safely.
- Use testing equipment, such as voltmeters and ohmmeters, to identify electrical problems.
- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine optimal setup and repairs.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding issues found and recommended solutions.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and practices in the workplace.
- Keep up to date with the latest electrical codes and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by clearly explaining electrical issues, repair options, and maintenance procedures.
- Build strong relationships with clients to foster trust and loyalty.
- Respond promptly to service calls and work effectively under pressure.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Assist in training and mentoring apprentice electricians when needed.
- Certified Electrician with a valid electrical license.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in electrical systems is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Service Electrician (minimum of X years).
- Knowledge of electrical codes, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in using electrical testing tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in various environments, including indoors and outdoors.
- Capacity to lift heavy objects (up to X lbs) and climb ladders as needed.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Flexible hours; availability for on-call service and emergency repairs as needed.
