Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer
Overview
Full Stack Software Engineer at on Xmaps, Inc. The role focuses on building and improving data processing systems and bringing mapping data to life for users to explore and engage with our products. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities- Build and maintain scalable services to support new features and products
- Use modern JavaScript, Type Script, Vue, and best practices to build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Use Golang and best practices to build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Write unit and integration tests with adequate coverage
- Assist in deploying and managing services in Kubernetes
- Collaborate in architectural decisions across teams
- Work with SRE and your team to define SLOs for services and help monitor and maintain them
- Mentor other engineers in your team and across the organization
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Supervisor
onX has a distributed workforce. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office, Basecamp, or Connection Hub. Offices are in Missoula and Bozeman, MT. Basecamps are located near Austin, TX;

Salt Lake City, UT;
Seattle, WA. Connection Hubs are near Boise, ;

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- Four or more years of relevant software engineering experience, with two or more years web development and two or more years API development
- Recent experience with modern web frontend technologies using Type Script and a modern web framework (React, Vue, etc.)
- Expertise in building and debugging scalable distributed services using Golang, REST, and GraphQL
- Ability to traverse the full stack from browser to service container
- Strong foundation in API and systems design and development
- Commitment to writing quality and maintainable code and working with a collaborative team
- Willingness to work with other talented engineers and align with onX’s values
- Permanent US work authorization
- Estimated base salary: $130,000 to $153,000
- Grant of common stock options with vesting and potential annual bonus up to 10% based on company performance
